Founded in August 2001, China Resources Power Holdings Co., Ltd. (“CR Power”) is a flagship Hong Kong-listed company of China Resources (Holdings) Co., Ltd. (“CR”) and one of the comprehensive energy companies with the highest efficiency and best benefits in China. Its businesses cover thermal power, coal, wind power, hydropower, distributed energy, nuclear power, photovoltaic power and other fields.

CR Power was listed on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on November 12, 2003 (stock number: 0836.HK). In March 2004, CR Power was added to Hang Seng Composite Industry Indexes (Utilities) and Hang Seng China-Affiliated Corporations Index. In May 2005, CR Power was incorporated into Morgan Stanley Capital International China Index. On 8 June 2009, the company formally became a constituent stock of the Hang Seng Index, making it the only Chinese invested power company that has been admitted to the Hang Seng Index. As of June 2017, CR Power’s total assets amounted to HK$210.475 billion and operational installed capacity amounted to 42,600MW, covering 27 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions. For ten consecutive years, CR Power has been listed in the Platts Top 250 Global Energy Companies and the Forbes Global 2,000, ranking 71th and 775th respectively.

In the next five to ten years, CR Power will continue to enhance its core coal power business value chain, strengthen the coordinated development of thermal power, coal power and new energy, nurture future points of growth by prospective layout of new business modes following the adjustment guidelines of the national energy structure, acquire top-quality resources and coordinate specialized development of various business modes that follow its system cost leadership strategy. Their goal is to realize the sustainable core competencies, becoming “a world-class enterprise, the most respected enterprise and the best employer,” and maximizing value for shareholders and employees.

CR, the parent company of CR Power, is a diversified holding company registered and operating in Hong Kong, that was founded 79 years ago. Under CR, there are seven key strategic business units, 16 grade-1 profit centers and 1,948 business entities. CR’s core businesses include consumer products (including retail, beer, food and beverages), power, real estate, cement, gas, pharmaceuticals and finances. CR’s diversified businesses are built on a solid industrial foundation and market competitiveness. Its retail, beer, power, real estate, gas, and pharmaceutical businesses are industry leaders within their fields. In Hong Kong, there are five listed companies under CR, and its “top three blue chip companies” – CR Enterprise, CR Power and CR Land – are all HSI constituents.
